Senior UX Designer

As a Senior UX Designer at Variate, you will play a critical role in designing experiences that resonate with users and reflect our clients’ brand integrity. You will collaborate closely with a dynamic team of designers, strategists, and developers to deliver solutions that are not only innovative but also practical and measurable. Your work will help clients stand out by addressing their unique challenges with design that unlocks distinctive value.

This US-based remote position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere during working hours in the EST timezone. You will report directly to a Design Director committed to your professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Lead design projects, creating deliverables and presentations from concept to delivery with minimal supervision. Ensure that all designs align with client business goals and drive impactful results.
  • Design Justification: Confidently explain and support all design choices using concrete examples from past projects or industry best practices.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong trust-based relationships with senior clients, including senior designers and directors. Ensure client satisfaction by understanding their needs and motivations.
  • Design Innovation: Create high-impact designs without established brand standards, demonstrating innovation while following industry best practices. Lead the creation of new design systems tailored to specific project needs.
  • Research Leadership: Conduct and lead user research independently, from planning and execution to synthesizing insights that inform design decisions.
  • AI Tool Integration: Build and implement AI-driven tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design process, supporting the work of the entire team.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in UX or product design, with a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create visually stunning and highly functional designs, as well as lead complex design projects.
  • Skills: Proficient in Figma. Strong understanding of UX principles, user research, design systems, and AI tool integration.
  • Mindset: A creative problem-solver who is adaptable, innovative, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. A strong sense of accountability and commitment to excellence is essential.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
